P = ( (N- your rank)/ N) x 100
In this formula, P stands for percentile and N is the total number of aspirants who appeared for the exam. Moreover, N is your rank and it indicates the number of participants who have scored fewer marks than you.
You can understand it better with an example. If the total number of candidates is 100 and 90 of them have fewer marks than you then,
P = (09/100)X100 = 0.9×100 = 90 percentile.
