Eligibility for GATE Exam 2022

Academic Qualification While there is no minimum pass percentage that has been recommended for appearing in the GATE 2022 exam, candidates who want to apply for GATE must, however, meet eligibility for the GATE exam related to the qualifying exam which has been explained in the table below.

Pharm.D. (after 10+2) The candidate wishing to apply for GATE must have completed a 6 years programme having internship or residency training during the sixth year as part of it. Qualified or is in 4th/ 5th or 6th year
M.Sc./ M.A./ MCA or equivalent Candidates seeking admissions need to have a Masters in Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, or equivalent. Qualified or is in the final year.
Int. M.E./ M.Tech. (Post-B.Sc.) Candidates should have done Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree in Engineering or Programs in Engineering Technology (4 years programme). Qualified or is currently in the 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th year.
Int. M.E./ M.Tech. or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2) Candidates who wish to apply for GATE should have completed Integrated Master’s degree programme or Dual Degree in Engineering or Technology (5 years programme). Qualified or is currently in the 4th/ 5th year.
Int. M.Sc./ Int. B.S.-M.S. Candidates applying for GATE 2022 must have completed Integrated M.Sc. or 5 years integrated B.S.-M.S. program. Qualified or is in the final year.
Professional Society Examinations* (equivalent to B.Tech/ B.E/ B.Arch.) Candidates need to have completed B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. Equivalent to b.tech examinations of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/ UPSC/ AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of professional courses Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India). Completed Section A or equivalent professional course.
GATE eligibility criteria based on nationality Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the GATE 2022 exam. Additionally, candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) can also apply.
GATE exam eligibility based on Age Limit There is no age limit for the exam.
